Pastors, your own mental health is critical to the health of your community.

Stefanie speaks to pastors (and their communities) about mental health and wellness so that they can live balanced lives while nurturing those they love.

Topics Include:

The Whole Human Pastor

Ministry today can feel demanding and difficult, often with big expectations and long hours. And it’s taking a toll. Almost half of our pastors are thinking about quitting, many feel lonely, and most are worried about the impact of their ministry on family life.

What if we could make ministry life more sustainable, less lonely, fruitful and even– fun– with a few important tweaks?

In The Whole Human Pastor talk, we will see why it is critically important to the success of the pastor and their community to care for self from the inside out. We will take an assessment of our current work/life balance and close the gaps we find in self care. Be aware, tough decisions with impactful payout lie ahead.

Stefanie's Whole Human Pastor talk includes:

  1. How to pinpoint areas of concern and have more bandwidth with less disruption to your personal and professional life.

  2. The biggest dial movers that have a big return on investment as you show up to your life as your best self.

  3. The importance of being a “self-centered” pastor as the community you serve experiences the positive trickle down effects and thrives as a result.

Helped, Heard, Hugged

How do I support a loved one or community member who is struggling with mental health challenges? This is one of the most common questions Stefanie gets, and she has responded with this talk aimed at helping faith communities and community organizations navigate what can be a tricky and complicated answer.

Stefanie's Helped, Heard, Hugged talk includes:

  1. Things that we know are true about mental health, like that it's complicated, common, and that it interacts with our faith.

  2. Examples in scripture and in daily life of supporting those we love with a hug, by listening, and by helping them.

  3. Uncommon empathy and sincere passion wrapped around 20 years of walking with families, colleagues, friends and others who love someone with a mental health illness.
